From governance and civic education to climate action and political participation, our programs create pathways for communities to shape the decisions that affect their lives.
Program 01
Promoting and enhancing youth participation in accountable and responsive governance. LSS uses community dialogues and evidence-based advocacy through research to enhance community understanding of how they can constructively engage with authorities to hold them accountable and participate in decision-making.
Program 02
We create awareness through community engagements to equip young people and communities with knowledge and opportunities to participate meaningfully in civic and democratic processes. Through this awareness, youths and women are encouraged to take up leadership roles to enhance their participation in decision making.
Program 03
At Luminous Safe Space CBO, gender equality and inclusion are central to our commitment to community-led change. We strive to ensure that women, girls and other underrepresented groups have meaningful opportunities to participate in decision-making, politics, influence public priorities and access information and services.
We integrate gender-responsive approaches across our governance and social accountability, civic education, climate action and community dialogue programmes. Through inclusive engagement, community advocacy and collaboration with relevant stakeholders, we work to address barriers to participation and strengthen the voices of those whose perspectives are often overlooked.
Program 04
Supporting community-led action and awareness around environmental sustainability and climate governance. Luminous Safe Space CBO works with communities, especially women and young people, to build awareness of climate change, promote locally driven solutions and advocate for environmental protection.
We support climate change adaptation by encouraging community preparedness and sustainable practices that strengthen resilience to drought and water scarcity, and mitigation through awareness and advocacy for tree growing, conservation and responsible waste management. Through partnerships and engagement with relevant stakeholders, we help communities participate in shaping sustainable environmental solutions.
Program 05
LSS aims to advance inclusive leadership, meaningful political participation and equitable representation in governance. Through civic education, sensitization, leadership mentorship, community dialogues, advocacy and electoral inclusion initiatives we strengthen their capacity to engage in decision making, influence public policy, and hold leaders accountable.
Our goal is to foster an inclusive and democratic society where young people and women can lead and participate safely and equitably to shape decisions that affect their lives and community.
